One of the participants of Art and Sea, Pive Toivonen, made this art piece ('Desert')  on basis of a black-and-white photograph she took during the heavy storm that the expedition experienced.
The bottom seabed of Baltic sea is said to be the largest desert in the world. The lack of oxygen has made it unsuitable for living organisms. 'Desert' combines the sea bottom as clay with the form of waves.

And here are two graphic prints Pia Jacobsson made, inspired by the trips on the Helena. She printed them on old sea charts, with stripes of tape, coffee spots and remarks on them!

Rebekka Harju made the drawings/paintings on the right and below during the expedition. She used mixed media when making them.
